Precision Organic Cotton Face Masks
These masks are so comfortable. Me and my kids love it.
The organic cotton is lovely, nice bright colours, and the craftsmanship is great, BUT the nose wire seems flimsy & doesn't maintain a very good contour. The plastic adjustable thingies are rather lose, as someone else said in his/her review. My glasses steam up, and the whole mask moves way too much when I speak. Perhaps I should've tried the pleated masks, but the description didn't mention nose wire, which I thought was important. They'll be ok, better than nothing, and maybe I can give them to someone who finds them a better fit. I'm glad I got them on the half-price sale, because I'd be much more critical if I'd paid $15.00 for each one.
I am a nurse and my close friend is a paramedic. when the outbreak hit, we were trying to obtain everyday masks that were comfy. We landed on these. They are great, have adjustable ear loops and we have no problem talking in them. Of course, at work, we have to wear other PPE while at work, but for getting groceries, etc it is great. It is comfy and easy to speak while wearing. AND, it is not too hot to wear while down here in Texas

Why Organic Cotton?
1. Who wants pesticides and synthetic chemicals on their face for hours on end? We don't & we figured you don't either!
2. Organic cotton is not only better for the environment, but it's better for the workers who plant and harvest it. Studies have shown that cotton pesticides can have negative long term health impacts on the workers in the fields.
Jen - featured above - developed the pattern (after a ton of research) and sewed the first batch of 200. She's an awesome woman and a key member of our production team. Since the Covid-crisis she's been staying home a couple days a week to help with her kids and so this sewing project helps her continue to work, while staying home.
Since we first launched our Face Masks in April of 2020, we have have donated more than 23,000 masks across Canada and the United states with our 'Buy One, Donate One' program!
How Effective are Cloth Masks?
There has been a lot of debate about the wearing of masks - some scientific and some cultural. The opinions vary greatly depending on the country of origin, but recently, western experts are embracing the idea of using masks. And while N95 'surgical' grade masks should be kept for front line healthcare workers, cotton masks such as these are gaining support in helping to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, particularly for people who are carrying the virus, but don't have symptoms..
"Writing last month, Adrien Burch, an expert in microbiology at the University of California, Berkeley, noted that "despite hearing that face masks 'don't work,' you probably haven't seen any strong evidence to support that claim. That's because it doesn't exist. In fact, there is evidence of the exact opposite: that masks help prevent viral infections like the current pandemic....
"Based on the research, face masks are much more likely to help than to hurt," according to Burch. "Even if it's just a homemade cloth mask, if you wear it correctly and avoid touching it, the science suggests that it won't hurt you and will most likely reduce your exposure to the virus."
(CNN, James Griffiths, April 1, 2020)
What's more: "The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is now advising Americans to voluntarily wear a basic cloth or fabric face mask when they go out to help curb the spread of the new coronavirus.” Los Angeles Times, April 3, 2020
