I've been using bamboo tooth brushes for a few years in an attempt to reduce my plastic waste. My dental hygienist recommended I switch to an electric toothbrush to help reduce coffee and tea staining, but I didn't want to invest in a brand that would make me go back to buying plastic disposable brushes. Thankful I found this option to support environmentally friendly dental hygiene!
Battery life so far seems impressive. I've been using this toothbrush for a couple weeks now on a single charge, and the indicator light is still green (I believe it turns yellow when it's starting to lose energy). I have sensitive teeth, and the vibrations are gentle enough on my teeth while being powerful enough to clean to a smooth polish. I'm not sure the different vibrational pulse modes clean any differently (if I want more of a whitening polish, I dip my toothbrush in a little baking soda to combine with my toothpaste, and that does the trick), but I enjoy the sensory experience of the different modes. My teeth feel as clean as right after a professional dental cleaning.
The one downside is that the electric toothbrush is rather noisy. My spouse joked that the first couple nights I used it, he heard the sound from our living room and was baffled trying to figure out if I'd left the kitchen faucet running or if a random home appliance was malfunctioning and buzzing. I know the sound can't be helped because of the way the brush head vibrates; it was more amusing than anything for us.
The vibration does pause every 30 seconds to indicate when to move to a different quadrant, which is a helpful reminder so I'm not spending too much time brushing one area and missing another. Tooth rush automatically turns off after two minutes.
I won't be able to use the toothpaste tablets that came with this kit because they contain sugar alcohols that I'm sensitive to, but I'll pass those along to a friend who can use them. I do like the biodegradable floss and refillable metal container! I have narrow gaps between my teeth and am use to using the flat tape style floss, so I was worried the thicker strands would get stuck between my teeth. That hasn't really been an issue, and I feel better knowing this floss won't be more plastic added to my household waste. If y'all come out with an eco-friendly, refillable flossing pick to pair with this floss, I'd buy it! I've seen other companies make them in plastic, but I'd rather buy one made of bamboo or metal.
Thanks!
