Our plastic-free Loofie Scrubber (affectionately known as 'Loofie') is a combination of the gentle scrubbing power of the fibrous loofah plant and the spongy cellulose-cotton cellulose dishcloth. They're even sewn together using cotton thread (rather than the all too commonly used polyester thread) which makes for reusable & biodegradable dish cleaning with absolutely no plastic.
USE & CARE
Use your new etee Loofie Scrubber in the same way you'd use your old green & blue plastic sponge (but without the plastic!). The loofah side is an amazing scrubber - but it won't scratch your dishes! The cellulose side is good for wiping up messy dishes and cleaning more delicate dishes. Loofies can do more than clean dishes - try using one to help scrub the sink & tub, just like your old plastic sponge would!
To keep your Loofie clean you can chuck a damp one into the microwave for 10 seconds, or lay it onto the top rack of your dishwasher for a cycle. Washing machines or clothes dryers are not recommended.
Change your Loofie every 3 to 5 weeks, depending on usage. When you're done with it, since it's fully biodegradable, you can chuck it in the garbage, compost or bury it the garden. Loofie will decompose within a month :).

Loofie Scrubbers!
I find that these work just as well as a traditional sponge, and bonus for planet-friendly. I will definitely purchase again.
This item is a treasure. I give them away all the time to friends to encourage them to use less plastic. They last forever and do a great job in the kitchen, bathroom, wherever!
These work well and I feel so good about using these earth-friendly scrubbers rather than the unnatural petroleum-based "sponges" we used to use.

I was very pleased at how well these hold up to frequent use and rough handling, as well as washing in the washing machine.
I've been using these little eco groovy alternatives to sponge nasties for well over a year now, and after I adapted to the thinner size, I've come to love the way the blue side works well to wipe up, and the loofah scrubs everything clean. I squeeze it out after every use and they dry pretty quickly where I live, and I've been able to make one last for months!
I saw that some reviewers didn't like the somewhat uneven-ness, instead of super flatness, of the natural loofah after it's first rehydrated, but that's the nature of nature, right? I've adapted to that as well, because they're still functionally awesome!
The one thing I would suggest as an improvement is an extra line or two of stitching through the middle of the scrubbie. My issue is that the loofah tends to tear pretty quickly through the middle and then is less easy or effective to use. Maybe I'm hard on my gear with all the hand washing I do (no dishwasher in my place), but a little longer lasting middle section of loofah for the price would be wonderful. Honestly, I'm going to add some extra stitches to my newest ones, but it would be great if I didn't need to alter them.
