It's great for normal and sensitive skin because it contains gentle surfactants - below a 3 on the EWG toxicity scale - ceramides, to protect the skins barrier and glycerin, which draws oil out while keeping moisture in, this allows it to deeply cleanse pores and remove makeup without drying or irritating your skin. Our use of ceramides and gentle cleansers will help to clean pores without irritating the skin, and likely for this reason, we have had several customers who have said it helps with acne prone skin, but we did not develop it as an acne fighting cleanser.

Make sure you use potable, drinking water and add the water first to a clean dispenser, and then mix the cleanser from the Chrysalis into the drinking water.Like all cleansers, we use chelating ingredients to preserve and decrease the reactivity of metal ions that may be present in the water and product ingredients.We use Tetrasodium EDTA as our primary chelating ingredient, which is a 1 - 2 on the EWG toxicity scale when used in a cleanser. We also use Phenoxyethanol, which is a commonly used preservative in skin care products that is to prevent microbial growth.We have run numerous tests, and so long as you use drinking water (tap or filtered) it should work as any other cleanser.
Yes, it is a light gel. If you'd like it to be thinner, use 105ml of water and if you'd like it to be thicker, use 95ml of water. Adding a little less or more water will not impact performance in any way, so in other words, you don't have to measure perfectly.
Not at all. It does not need to be perfect to work 'perfectly'! If you add a little less water than required, it will be a thicker gel, and if you add a little more water, it will be a thinner gel. MAKE SURE YOU ADD THE WATER FIRST, THEN THE CLEANSING AGENTS TO THE WATER.
Yes! It has an average amount of suds and foam - not too little, not too much.
Simply add 100 ml of potable drinking water to a clean dispenser (our dispenser has a fill line marked on the side of the bottle), then snip and pour the concentrate into the water and give it a gentle shake by tipping the bottle upside down and right side up 5 - 10 times. For best results, let it sit for 20min before use. Bubbles will form after you shake it and then settle within an hour.
Simply rinse out the pod, break it up and put in either a backyard compost or dirt. 1 pod can also be placed in a countertop composter such as the LOMI, and because it is made of natural waxes, oils and resins, it could really be disposed of anywhere without leaving a harmful trace. It will typically take 3 - 6 months to decompose in a natural compost pile with a good microbe mix.

Our cleanser (and all etee products) are developed with EWG's skin deep® rating system in mind. The hazard score, from 1 to 10, reflects known and suspected health hazards linked to the ingredients. Our goal is to use only low hazard (1 -2) ingredients. In some instances we may use ingredients that range from a 1 - 4 because - for example - some ingredients are a 1 or 2 if rinsed off the skin (as is the case with some cleansing agents), but a 4 if left on the skin. The rating system works as follows.
Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate
This surfactant helps to cleanse the skin by removing dirt, oil, and impurities, creating lather and enhancing the foaming action of the cleanser.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
A mild surfactant derived from coconut oil, it contributes to the cleansing and foaming properties of the facial cleanser. NOTE: this agent could be considered a 1-2 when used as a cleanser because it's meant to be rinsed off, but higher if left on the skin.
Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate
Another gentle surfactant that aids in cleansing and foaming while maintaining a mild and non-irritating formula.
Sodium Chloride

I have super sensitive skin and find a hard time finding products that work on my skin without drying it out or causing more breakouts. This face wash is what dreams are made of for me!!! Finding the right cleanser for my face has been a lifelong battle. I've tried every drugstore brand there is. My skin has always had an uneven tone and is ALWAYS dry due to where I live. I learned about this cleanser through an Instagram ad and saw it for months until I finally decided to give it a try. Within a week I had already noticed a difference with my skin. Even my husband commented! I use it in along with the moisturizer, so I don't know if it's mainly one or both, but I'm very grateful I gave in and finally made this order! I never want to buy another cleanser again!
The cons:
- My first cleanser pod was cracked and leaked all over the box. Customer service was great and sent me another one after I reached out.
- Two hands are required to hold the bottle and pump with the other since the pump mechanism is so small.
- This claims to remove makeup, but whenever I had eyeliner on that's the one thing it couldn't was off, and it's not even waterproof eyeliner. So I do have to use makeup remover after.
To be honest I only ordered this facial cleanser to receive the free vitamin C serum, but so happy I did. Both products are amazing. I have skin conditions due to my cancer medications and this stuff is gentle and helping me achieve a healthier looking and feeling skin! Will be purchasing more! Thank you :)
I love this cleanser! There's no film left on the skin after rinsing like a lot of other natural cleansers. It does well removing makeup, but I also use an oil cleanser 1st to remove mascara. Only thing I didn't like, was once I mixed the water with the solution, the container was only 4/5ths full. I felt like I was missing some product. Other than that, I love the cleanser and the vitamin C serum. Finally, a vitamin C serum that doesn't pull when I apply my makeup. Definitely will reorder again!
