Étant une personne très occupée, j'ai toujours été fascinée par les ashrams et les centres qui aident les gens à apprendre la pleine conscience et la méditation. Je suis particulièrement séduite par l'idée que les tâches ménagères, comme faire la vaisselle ou plier le linge, deviennent des occasions de pratiquer la pleine conscience.
J'ai toujours pensé que si je parvenais à associer les corvées à une pratique contemplative, je serais #gagnante, non ?
J'ai donc décidé de faire exactement cela. Il s'avère qu'il existe des preuves qui confirment les bienfaits de cette approche. Dans une petite étude, des chercheurs de l'Université de Floride ont demandé à des participants de lire un court texte sur la pleine conscience pendant la vaisselle avant de commencer à frotter.

Lorsqu'on fait la vaisselle, il faut se concentrer uniquement sur le lavage de la vaisselle. Cela signifie qu'en lavant la vaisselle, on doit être pleinement conscient de ce que l'on fait. À première vue, cela peut paraître un peu futile. Pourquoi accorder autant d'importance à une chose aussi simple ? Mais c'est précisément là l'essentiel. Le simple fait d'être là, à laver la vaisselle, est une réalité merveilleuse. Je suis pleinement moi-même, je suis au rythme de ma respiration, conscient de ma présence, de mes pensées et de mes actions. Impossible d'être ballotté sans réfléchir comme une bouteille jetée au gré des vagues.
Je n'aurais jamais deviné le résultat : les chercheurs ont découvert que les personnes qui faisaient leur vaisselle en pleine conscience — en se concentrant sur le savon, en appréciant la température de l'eau, en savourant le plaisir de frotter, etc. — ressentaient 25 % d'inspiration en plus et voyaient leur niveau de stress diminuer de 27 %.
Cela renforce l'idée que les activités quotidiennes abordées avec intention et conscience peuvent améliorer notre pleine conscience !
Je vais donc commencer à faire la vaisselle avec plus d'attention. Et cette toute nouvelle brosse à vaisselle en noix de coco, à la fois belle, fonctionnelle et écologique, va m'y aider.
