Would You Care if Your Laundry Detergent Sweat Through the Bag?

Publié par IT Admin le

So like I said, we're really excited about this 100% plastic free laundry detergent packaging.  And if it works for our LD, we'll probably transition it to all our powders.

But it sweats like a marathon runner in 30 degree sun, meaning the bag will have some minor grease marks.

So my question to you, is if you were walking through the grocery store aisle and saw this, would it put you off / think there's something wrong with it?

FYI, tin and aluminum is a no go for us.

Let me know in the comments below and while you're here don't forget to pick up your FREE - full sized - deep conditioner with any purchase.

  • Unfortunately seeing it on a shelf I’d be worried about it. However, I already use it and love it and won’t hesitate to order it online.

  • I would be fine with it. Having signage to explain to more particular customers does make sense.

  • Not only would I not be bothered, but I would be more likely to purchase this product over all other products if “backyard compostable” is clearly marked on the packaging.

  • I’m always looking for more environmentally friendly alternatives. Seeing the sweating on the store shelves wouldn’t bother me. I’m actually going to use a sugar bowl with a lid to store the laundry soap when it arrives.

  • My honest opinion is, Yes, it would bother me to see this on a grocery store shelf. And I would be concerned about it leaving marks on other things that the package come in contact with. BUT, now that you have explained yourself as to WHY this happens, then I am more understanding, but standing in a grocery store, I probably wouldn’t stop to read to learn WHY. So thanks for the heads up so I won’t be shocked when I see this with my next order, because I definitely plan on ordering again.

  • There is a theme here. I would not have a problem purchasing this product in a “sweaty” package. It’s a matter of educating people. Thanks for all the research you do to help us use less plastic!!!

  • I think some people may be put off by it but I think you could do an ad campaign about the "sweating " and maybe have grocery stores have a little sign that says “Sorry about the sweat!” To grab their attention with very brief text explaining the look?

Now that I know, I wouldn’t care. I’m just looking for things that don’t involve 10lbs of plastic for my short existence on this rock.

  • I would be worried that it would leave makes in my wooden and painted shelves and drawers.

  • Now that I understand I have no problem with that and would buy it.

  • Since it has been explained to me, I would have no problem purchasing the product and I am very glad that you are making the switch to get rid of all the plastic. Unfortunately, I think many people would shy away from a package that may look different, however, I think that they are the same people that are going to stick with big brands anyways. By the way, I really like the product but I had some reservations about the zip closure, now it’s problem solved!
