Will it work for sensitive skin?

Yes! It's great for normal and sensitive skin because it contains gentle surfactants - below a 3 on the EWG toxicity scale - ceramides, to protect the skins barrier and glycerin, which draws oil out while keeping moisture in, this allows it to deeply cleanse pores and remove makeup without drying or irritating your skin. Will it work for acne prone skin?

Our use of ceramides and gentle cleansers will help to clean pores without irritating the skin, and likely for this reason, we have had several customers who have said it helps with acne prone skin, but we did not develop it as an acne fighting cleanser.

Will it remove makeup?

Actually, it removes makeup extremely well - check out our videos to see how it even removes heavily layered 'drag makeup ' - without drying out the skin.

What kind of water should I mix it with, and could that cause contamination over time?

Make sure you use potable, drinking water and add the water first to a clean dispenser, and then mix the cleanser from the Chrysalis into the drinking water.Like all cleansers, we use chelating ingredients to preserve and decrease the reactivity of metal ions that may be present in the water and product ingredients.We use Tetrasodium EDTA as our primary chelating ingredient, which is a 1 - 2 on the EWG toxicity scale when used in a cleanser. We also use Phenoxyethanol, which is a commonly used preservative in skin care products that is to prevent microbial growth.We have run numerous tests, and so long as you use drinking water (tap or filtered) it should work as any other cleanser.

What is the consistency of the cleanser, is it a gel?

Yes, it is a light gel. If you'd like it to be thinner, use 105ml of water and if you'd like it to be thicker, use 95ml of water. Adding a little less or more water will not impact performance in any way, so in other words, you don't have to measure perfectly.

What if I don't add the right amount of water, will that be a problem?

Not at all. It does not need to be perfect to work 'perfectly'! If you add a little less water than required, it will be a thicker gel, and if you add a little more water, it will be a thinner gel. MAKE SURE YOU ADD THE WATER FIRST, THEN THE CLEANSING AGENTS TO THE WATER.

Does it sud and foam?

Yes! It has an average amount of suds and foam - not too little, not too much.

How do I mix it with water?

Simply add 100 ml of potable drinking water to a clean dispenser (our dispenser has a fill line marked on the side of the bottle), then snip and pour the concentrate into the water and give it a gentle shake by tipping the bottle upside down and right side up 5 - 10 times. For best results, let it sit for 20min before use. Bubbles will form after you shake it and then settle within an hour.

How do I dispose of the backyard compostable pod?

Simply rinse out the pod, break it up and put in either a backyard compost or dirt. 1 pod can also be placed in a countertop composter such as the LOMI, and because it is made of natural waxes, oils and resins, it could really be disposed of anywhere without leaving a harmful trace. It will typically take 3 - 6 months to decompose in a natural compost pile with a good microbe mix.

At first, I was disappointed because it wasn't lathering up, but then I realized that I needed to splash water on my face first to get a nice lather. I have very sensitive skin, and so far it seems gentle enough for me.

I really enjoy this product. It's a relief to do away with plastic face wash bottles. The pump is well-designed and doesn't leak product. The cleanser does smell faintly earthy, which is a downside to me but doesn't last on the skin (great for people who are fragrance-sensitive). I've been especially impressed with the formula and how well it works for my combination skin: it leaves my skin feeling soft and clean without being overly dry. I'm a fan and can't wait to get my first refill!

I was impressed how it mixed well and I love the packaging- I generally prefer a cream- but to keep things plastic free I can use a gel - it is a little more drying than my previous one so I am using it once a day- if you have oily, combination or younger skin I don't think this would be an issue- it is gentle.

The face wash works great! Doesn't seem to be drying while still cleansing. I purchased soap from this company ages ago and the capsules weren't perfected yet, but all the capsules I purchased (face wash and soap) were in perfect condition so give it a try if you haven't (or had an didn't have the best luck!)

Great quality products and amazing customer service

It’s quite satisfying to pour the products in the jars/bottle. The facial cleanser is gentle and cleans well. I used moisturizer on my hands only and it leaves them incredibly soft. I feel like my skin is glowing more thanks to the Vit C serum! The sunscreen doesn’t leave any kind of white film, it’s perfect! The products have an interesting smell because of the packaging, but it’s not very strong.

Great products

This bundle exceeded my expectations. I was a little unsure about buying beauty products from a company that did not specialize in only that thing but I also really wanted to try a low waste option. All of the products in this bundle work very well. I also loved the bundle option because it allowed me to try products that i might not have bothered to buy, like the vitamin c serum, which I love. My one small comment about the moisturizer is that like others noted it can still leave mature skin feeling like it could use more moisturize. I found that using a facial oil (such as rose seed oil, hemp seed oil, prickly pear or carrot seed) after the moisturizer helped provide the extra plump I wanted.

Fantastic packaging, great products

I was excited to receive my first order! The packaging is spectacular. It makes me feel good about supporting this company. I love all of the products, even though it’s been a short time using them. So far, so great! I love the sunscreen… the feel and smell are incredible. My only complaint about that product is the size of it; I will only use it on my face, it is a very small jar. I hope there is a big size to use as an all body sunscreen! I highly recommend this product for both quality and packaging.

Incredible bundle! I’ve been looking for a good alternative to CeraVe since they profit off apartheid, and this is legitimately the best cleanser I’ve ever used. My skin feels excellent.
I bought this bundle as I start onto Accutane and the moisturizer is super soft. I’ve had issues with sunscreens before that claim to be light but still feel sticky on the skin due to sensory issues, but this one is actually light! It blends in super fast. Thus face cream is light weight, unscented, smooth and my face feels great. I saved a cute little jar for my face cream, and I love it! Every time I see it I am reminded that this moisturizer not only works really well, but is so much better than the plastic pump the former crap came in.

This is a great product. It feels light and clean, and a little bit goes a long way. I’m 79 so I have wrinkles! But this moisturizer makes my face and neck feel nice and smooths out the wrinkles.

I am satisfied with this moisturizer. It does a great job keeping my skin hydrated, and it feels good on the skins, no irritation. I love the composting packaging, but I’m not too stoked about the moisturizer scent to be honest. If we can further improve the scent I think it would be perfect. Using it and loving it!

I had discolouration from sun damage on my cheekbones. I’ve been using this daily and nightly for a couple weeks now. Slowly noticing a difference - My skin also feels so much softer! It’s a good product.

My skin is glowing

I apply the vitamin C serum twice a day (morning and night) and the results are radiant glowy skin. My skin feels healthier after just over a week of regular usage.

The serum is quite nice, feels lovely on the skin and a little goes a long way. The measurement markings in ink on the dropper are not robust enough as the ink wept and bled and unfortunately mixed with the serum. I found it necessary to wipe the remaining ink off the dropper.

It was a gift but she loved it!

I sadly didn't buy this for myself but it was a very well-received gift for a 40+ friend (like myself) and she was super excited.

I think most skin products are scams, but I literally see a difference with the Vitamin C serum. I put it on before bed, and my skin just glows in the morning!

Work super well!

I actually really enjoy using the Chewpaste. It foams up very well, and my teeth feel very clean afterwards. I hope we have a refill options in the future instead of buying the whole new container, but definitely a really great product and I strongly recommend it.

Very subtle taste, smooth texture when chewed, doesn't foam up rapidly it does so gradually as you brush which actually works nicely, and my mouth feels way cleaner after brushing than it does with regular toothpastes. If you associate clean with a minty sensation, that isn't what I am talking about, that tingling of mint is not present in this toothpaste. Mouth stays feeling clean much longer than with a regular toothpaste too.

A triumph. Love these. No reason to go back to old-style toothpaste.

Chewpaste for the win!

I really enjoy the chewpaste etee has created. The packaging is reusable (I save the little bottles for various things like making and storing my own salad dressing) and the chewpaste flavour is mild and pleasant, and doesn’t have powerful mint flavour that lingers and irritates. It pairs perfectly with the bamboo electric toothbrush…what a great combo.

Minty fluoride chewpaste is perfect amount and so easy to travel

The amount of paste in the little chewpaste pellets is the perfect amount, and no squeezing, mess, or plastic waste! I am extremely happy with these and highly recommend. I use everyday at home and they are excellent to take traveling because you can take just what you need, small, and no mess!

Chewpaste foams, taste good, has fluoride, and all this without using wasteful plastic tubes. The little jars that it comes in can be recycled or reused. Once I knew it existed and tasted how good it was, and knew how well it worked, I was sold. I will never use tube toothpaste again.

Fantastic teeth cleaning option!

My fiancee and I have tried quite a few different non-paste teeth cleaning options out there, and I have to say these are the best of the bunch. I appreciate that they do contain fluoride, as yes, it is essential for good oral hygiene. These tooth bits chew up nicely and create an effective lather for brushing. I actually use 2 each time I brush my teeth to get a sufficient lather to clean my big mouth :P. Two bits tend to be just a little much, so I would really love it if you came out with an XL option of the chewpaste where each bit was 50% larger. Other than that, fantastic product!

I’ve tried a few concentrated hand soaps, and they just haven’t been…soapy. Like they foam and they smell good but they don’t actually have the ability to get anything greasy off your hands. But THIS stuff is really great. Feels like soap! And it smells great too. Happy to support this company and its great product.

Great Laundry Detergent!

I’m very happy with our new detergent, it’s work great! Whites have come out bright & it really works well on our dark clothes too! I love the fact that the entire product, including packaging is environmentally safe. I feel safer using it with our well & septic. I highly recommend this concentrated laundry detergent!

Is this recommended for low water machines i think there are some granules on clothes i tried putting water and stirring before adding to washer but some didn’t dissolve, most did. What is your recommendation

Super Concentrated Laundry Detergent

I’ve used this detergent on delicates, athletic gear, knits, towels, and linens - all come out clean and fresh! I love that it’s concentrated and will last a while. I was worried about the powder not dissolving fully, but I haven’t noticed that happen - success! The soap seems to perform well across water temps, too.

Laundry soap

Very happy with the results. Works as well as the laundry sheets I was using previously, and possibly better. Happy as well to buy from a Canadian maker and that it isn’t coming from the US or China. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and am satisfied with the clean I get without plastics and a smaller carbon footprint. I’ll keep buying this.

Excellent Laundry Powder

I'm very pleased with how well this laundry detergent cleans my clothes and bedding. It smells nice and makes my clothes feel soft. I only need to use a levelled teaspoon for a regular sized load. I will be buying more.

Zero compromise

I purchased etee laundry deciding that compromise on clean is worth the practical (cost saving) and environmental gains. After using it for a month, there is ZERO compromise. It cleans well- with very little soap- 1 tsp for my front load even on tough dirty loads- I am converted! Cannot recommend this product enough-

Easy & effective

I've been on a mission to stop using plastic packaging wherever possible and have tried all sorts of products. This dish soap is the best plastic-free solution I have found. Easy to mix and works perfectly. It's a little less sudsy than conventional products, but also I find it easier to wash off, and it works just as well. I have the subscription set so refills show up just when I'm about to run out and I never have to think about it.

Love them.... Could they be larger?

I bought three. In the first week, #1 fell apart during regular use - I think it was a quality issue with the loofah material. #2 has been going strong for two weeks of hard use, washing three meals a day. My only suggestion is they are a bit small (2.5" x 4"). Could they be more like 3" x 4.5"? That would be better. But I intend to keep buying them.

Awesome little scrubber!

They’ve changed…

I’ve been getting these for a few years now and they changed over that time, with subtle difference in each iteration- all for the better.

The last batch was my favorite. It’s bigger, has a more comfy shape, and becomes pliable much quicker. Some tips for folks trying them out:
- they are stiff and very thin when they arrive and they plump up to a good squish and pliability with a good soak and use. If you let them dry out, then they restiffen but will get soft again as you wash.
- I have not noticed a smell. Squeeze all the water out when you’re done washing (as you should with any sponge) so it doesn’t sit around soggy and gross.
-I also use a handled scrubby brush to get big chunks of food off of the things I wash before lathering with the sponge which I suspect keeps the sponge fresher longer since it’s not coated in sauces, grease as much as it would be if I skipped that step.

Overall, great product. Lasts well, holds up great, and has been worth the price for us. I actually had to pause my subscription because they were lasting so much longer than I expected and I was getting a stash piling up under the sink.

For now

I am enjoying my loofie scrubbers. I do appreciate that they are from all natural materials. I've just started so I don't know how they will hold up, but for now they do a good job. Initially I thought they may be too thin hold sufficient soap, but that doesn't seem to be the case. And I like how comfortable they are in my hand.

Loofie scrubbers WORK!

Skeptical, but they are good as promised! They have completely replaced my blue plastic sponge and clean all my dishes and other surfaces without adding micro plastics to my diet!

This is my third purchase of the loofah scrubby and they work very well as both a scrubby and a sponge. Best of all they last awhile, unlike some other compostable sponges/scrubbies. And of course at the end of their useful life they are compostable which gives me peace of mind. I also like the fact that I can feel good about using them and I am not contributing as much to the microplastic pollution of the world. I have turned my family on to these and now have requests for more of them.

My cellulose sponge has seen better days, and with the loofie being free with my previous gift, it’s hard to pass up! Effective scrubbing and gentle on my stoneware.

The shampoo is fantastic - it lathers easily, and the conditioner works wonders. My hair has never felt better!!!!!!

After a long 7 years of looking for the safest product for my hair with the least impact on our planet I have found THE ONE! These are way better than any liquid product or solid shampoo soap I have ever used. The shampoo lathers beautifully and doesn’t leave the ‘soap feeling’ like all other shampoo bars I have tried. The conditioner leaves my hair feeling so soft, not oily or greasy at all. It has only been just over a week but I have noticed less buildup, although it’ll probably take me awhile to eliminate the bulk barn shampoo bar residue 😩 And of course, who doesn’t love lavender? I read another review of a different product saying they felt like they were not “settling” for environmentally friendly over name brand products and I completely agree! Thank you for the dedication to a plastic free world and for helping me feel better about my role as a conscious consumer!

Brilliant product.

I recently decided to make the switch to solid shampoo/conditioner and this is the first one I tried. I've since tried a couple other shampoos but I think this one is the best. It cleans well, doesn't leave a weird residue, and the conditioner adequately hydrates my hair. My hair is neither limp nor frizzy! The one minor annoyance is that the shampoo seems to get used up much more quickly than the conditioner.

As for the shampoo bar (and just incase you aren't already doing this!)... try keeping it on a shelf of your shower that the water doesn't continually hit ... and ideally on a slatted soap holder or something like that so any water that does hit it can drain well. Otherwise, we're super happy to hear that the combo is working well for you!

This does really work. A daily application, and your hardcore BO is gone. This deodorant is actually amazing I hope it stays forever. (I do think I am just a little bit allergic to the root powder ingredient though, but I’ve had allergy sensitive skin since I was a kid, so the itchiness only lasted the first 3 uses & it’s adapted already. No more itchiness.)

It’s UNNERVING how well this works

I am blown away by this stuff. All I need is a one fingertip worth in each pit, and my pits smell totally neutral ALL DAY. Even when I wake up the next morning, they still smell like nothing at all. The single jar will last me forever. It also keeps my pits dry, and doesn’t rub off on clothes. The scent is super lovely too. I’m never getting anything else ever again. Changed my life.

"No More Stinky Sandal Feet"

...I think that was the title of the email I received from Steve/etee a year ago promoting this deodorant paste. I hadn't considered purchasing it before because I am lucky enough to not usually have odor problems under my arms and just use a deodorant stone on occasion, but that title got my attention. The reason is that I basically live all day, every day in rubber flip-flops during the warm months. And they (along with my feet) were getting stinky frequently. And I hated having to constantly wash them (and my feet) and soak them in baking soda (which put them out of service for a few hours) to get rid of the odor. So, I decided to give etee's deodorant paste a try, rubbing a small amount into the soles of my feet once a day. Problem solved! I first started using the paste in the middle of last summer and my feet stayed odor-free and I didn't have to wash my flip-flops the rest of the season. And I haven't had to wash them at all this season. Now they just smell faintly of the paste, which has a scent (bergamot pine) that I find absolutely lovely! It's become one of my three favorite etee products (the other two being the laundry detergent and chewpaste), and I heartily recommend it to anyone who has odor issues anywhere from armpits to toes. It works!
