What Do You Use to Wash Your Face?

Posted by Steve Reble on

92% of women use facial cleansers on a daily basis, and the overwhelming majority come packaged in plastic.

Yikes!

We'd love to change that, but we need your help!

So tell us, what's your daily cleansing routine? And what would it take for you to try something new?

Let us know - comment below - together we can turn this plastic tide around!

  • I use bar soap. It needs to be for eczema and roascia.

  • I do not use soaps, cleansers or creams to wash my face. I use a Nanotowel and just warm water. Works great, takes off dirt and makeup. No chemicals.

  • I use the most natural thing I can get my hands on and sometimes make my own. I hate the containers (plastic) and would be very open to trying something new. My whole family uses your lip balm and we love it!

  • I use Clean & Clear essentials foaming cleanser every morning and evening, followed with toner, moisturizer, and sometimes other products. Almost all of them come in plastic bottles/packaging and I’d love a plastic alternative! I’d be open to trying bars or other gel cleansers, but it would need to be fragrance free :)

  • My skin is sensitive and can be dry, so I look for fragrance free and without harsh chemicals. Lather is not important to me as long as it can effectively dissolve makeup. I also need it to be safe for the eye area, as I dont like to use separate eye-makeup remover; I want one -step cleansing. I am currently using Carina Organics unscented face cleanser but wish they had a refill option, as it is in a plastic pump. I also typically use a microfibre face cloth to rinse my face.

  • My skin is mature, dry, and super sensitive. I must use something fragrance-free, non-allergenic, and mild. Only a handful of brands don’t irritate my skin. A cream can get contaminated in a jar, so it must be a bottle, but I’d consider a bar. Non-plastic packaging would be a plus — very hard to find. I use soft bamboo washcloths.

  • Right now I am doing the double cleanse method and use a Japanese cleansing oil and foaming cleanser. This Japanese brand offers refill pouches, which is I hope a little better than buying a new bottle each time. For me to try something new, it would HAVE to be 100% fragrance-free and as well as free of essential oils and sensitizing ingredients, period. Those items do not belong in skincare, no matter how “natural” they are and a dermatologist will tell you the same. No irritating ingredients, just gentle and mild, please.

  • I use a bar facial cleanser and have been experimenting with making my own oil mixture to get away from moisturizers than come in plastic bottles.

    Melissa on
  • I use something super oily to remove makeup and dirt, and something super creamy oily to moisturize my skin to sleep in.

  • I use an Osage orange cleanser but it does come in a plastic bottle. Also use a microfiber washcloth with water.
