So like I said, we're really excited about this 100% plastic free laundry detergent packaging. And if it works for our LD, we'll probably transition it to all our powders.
But it sweats like a marathon runner in 30 degree sun, meaning the bag will have some minor grease marks.
So my question to you, is if you were walking through the grocery store aisle and saw this, would it put you off / think there's something wrong with it?
FYI, tin and aluminum is a no go for us.

I love your laundry detergent and am always impressed at the way you continue to innovate sustainably. As others have said a brief disclaimer on the packaging stating that any blotches that may appear are due to the biodegradation properties of the bag and do not affect the quality of the product should be prominently displayed on the product
I wouldn’t be put off because I understand the concept and have been following you and these types of products for a long time now, but unfortunately I think a lot of people that are new to the “no plastic, environmental friendly products, etc. would be put off. I’m afraid that, in a supermarket setting, they would see the “sweat marks” and may pass by the product before even reading that “it’s a normal occurrence and doesn’t affect quality or performance” marketing language on the packaging.
Hopefully, keeping the messaging in the news will help going forward. Please keep it up, we applaud you!
Wouldn’t bother me at all but definitely think an explanation on the packaging would help others who are bothered. Anything that makes packaging truly compostable or recyclable is a plus for me. Thanks.
I wouldn’t be put off, especially if there is a clearly visible explanation. Maybe a little cartoon would do the trick!
I am not the average shopper. I put things back on the shelf if I notice unsustainable packaging or ingredients and go without.
Agree with most posts- once we understand that the sweating is a result of improved biodegradable packaging and does not affect the work of the soap- Amen to that
Add a easily noticeable note explaining that the bag might “sweat” and explain why you still chose to go with it. Most people looking for ecological alternatives would agree with choosing this packaging once they understand the reasoning behind it!
As long as you’re saying it doesn’t affect the product I’m fine with it. Maybe have an explanation on the packaging or shelf incase people aren’t sure?
I wouldn’t have any issues with it as long as I knew why it was like that. I agree with Sandy that having a note on the bag or a sign for the shelf would clarify for people.
What Maggie said! Your advertising is very educational and convincing. Explanations always help as to why something is as it is.
As long as I know the product’s effectiveness and shelf life have not changed, I would still purchase it, even in a stained package. I would purchase any product under the same conditions And, thank you for explaining the reason for stains and for not adding tin, etc. Education is important.
