How to Get 'Stubborn' Folks to Adopt Your New Dish Soap

When your Dish Soap arrives, some family members or flat-mates may be resistant to the new change - no judgement this happened in my house and I helped develop the stuff!

Here's the thing, our soap isn't as 'sudsy' as your household brands like . Why? Because virtually all Dish Soaps contain SLS, a substance that - according to the David Suzuki foundation - is toxic to aquatic life and an irritant to humans. Suds are cosmetic, they don't 'clean' your dishes, but they give an appearance of clean.

We removed SLS from our Dish Soap, but we packed in the clean. Our Plastic Free Club members agree and we're sure your household will too, if they know the reasons why:

HOW TO GET FAMILY & FRIENDS ON THE PLASTIC FREE TRAIN

"Introduce items in use in front of friends who are happy to learn about them causing peer pressure. It worked on my wife at our last house party with the soap." (Jaime)

Eventually they just believed me and were more concerned about their memory than the new way of doing things." (Kaylee)

"I'm the Chief Purchasing Officer in the household, so I also did these things: 1) I swapped out everything I could and my husband didn't have a choice. 2) Gifted friends and family memberships after raving about the products and "loaning" a few samples that never got returned. 3) Converted our sea creature loving daughter to the cause. She now happily tells resistant grandparents that they shouldn't eat and drink from things that have touched plastic because they are toxic and demands plastic-free replacements with the same intensity as asking for toys.   • I too would need more info but my initial take is use it only if its the only alternative to using regular plastic.

  • Need more information about PVA/PVO prior to deciding whether to recommend “dissolvable” plastic. Are there still microplastics that can be consumed by marine life? What is PVO (couldn’t find it on the ’net)? What are the implications of introducing PVA/PVO into the environment. I would suggest a little primer on the whole subject so that your customers can be better informed. I would love to see microplastics go away, but not at the expense of introducing new potentially toxic substances into the environment. Thank you

  • It is because you do not use plastics in your products that I chose to try them. I am voting no on any form of plastics. We already know enough about them and we’ve already used them to our detriment and the detriment of our planet. I support you in standing strong and plastic free

  • As a company that touts itself as eco-conscious, I feel it is out of integrity with your brand to package your products in plastic. If you really want to be on the leading edge, the vanguard of the eco-industry, as you say you are, please put some energy and resources into R & D of plastic alternatives.
    Either you are or you aren’t an eco-awake company. You can’t have it both ways. Lead by example. It’s the only way forward.

  • It is amazing how difficult it is to eliminate plastic. Everything comes in some type it seems. It becomes an uphill battle so if you can find something to replace plastic use maybe more companies that package our stuff would catch on! If it is safe why not?? I appreciate your company for making it easier for those of us more in the habit of using the plastic.

  • Surely, we have enough smart scientists to get us away from plastic. On my own, I’m avoiding it as much as possible. Please develop dissolvable plastic.

  • If the experts studying this give it the go-ahead, then it could work. As long as we’re not adding another problem trying to solve for a plastic alternative!
