So like I said, we're really excited about this 100% plastic free laundry detergent packaging. And if it works for our LD, we'll probably transition it to all our powders.
But it sweats like a marathon runner in 30 degree sun, meaning the bag will have some minor grease marks.
So my question to you, is if you were walking through the grocery store aisle and saw this, would it put you off / think there's something wrong with it?
FYI, tin and aluminum is a no go for us.

I agree with everyone else here – – the average shopper who doesn’t know anything about your products would not pick such a bag from the store shelf. We who are better educated would not hesitate to purchase it. But let’s face it, the average shopper believes that all products on the store shelves are safe & that they perform as their advertisements promise. HA.
You will need to do a lot of educational campaign why the bags are ‘oily’. Without knowing any better the first thought that crossed my mind was why would it “sweat”? Is there oil in this product? To somebody not familiar with your product (a potential new customer), they might think the product has been contaminated, old, or inferior in quality.
Probably in a grocery store I’d be concerned about the sweating of a random product. But with your laundry detergent I’d have no problem with the direct buying. I put it into a mason jar anyway with your label taped to it. I don’t that with all your powder products.
As I try to be as environmentally friendly as possible, now that I realize why there would be “stains” on the packaging, I would not hesitate to buy.
Unfortunately seeing it on a shelf I’d be worried about it. However, I already use it and love it and won’t hesitate to order it online.
I would be fine with it. Having signage to explain to more particular customers does make sense.
Not only would I not be bothered, but I would be more likely to purchase this product over all other products if “backyard compostable” is clearly marked on the packaging.
I’m always looking for more environmentally friendly alternatives. Seeing the sweating on the store shelves wouldn’t bother me. I’m actually going to use a sugar bowl with a lid to store the laundry soap when it arrives.
My honest opinion is, Yes, it would bother me to see this on a grocery store shelf. And I would be concerned about it leaving marks on other things that the package come in contact with. BUT, now that you have explained yourself as to WHY this happens, then I am more understanding, but standing in a grocery store, I probably wouldn’t stop to read to learn WHY. So thanks for the heads up so I won’t be shocked when I see this with my next order, because I definitely plan on ordering again.
There is a theme here. I would not have a problem purchasing this product in a “sweaty” package. It’s a matter of educating people. Thanks for all the research you do to help us use less plastic!!!
