I have used a S******* toothbrush for more than twenty years (and very briefly an O*** * which was awful, even after they redesigned it). Not only is the Etee electric toothbrush environmentally friendly, but it is also a better electric toothbrush than either of those. Because its "clean" setting is much gentler as compared to the same setting on either of those toothbrushes, yet it still cleans very effectively. I have a receding gum issue in a couple of places, and the Etee toothbrush is doing great with that (seems to be healing). But my teeth are still clean. I also like that I'm not putting plastic/nylon in my mouth (and I'm not throwing away plastic brushheads because there's nowhere to recycle them). And it's thoughtfully designed in other ways, for example the color coding of each brushhead is great so that my spouse and I always know whose brushhead is whose. The Etee toothbrush should win design awards. I will say that it's very annoying that it doesn't come with a charging block. I just happened to have one that would fit, but I don't have anything for the second Etee toothbrush I bought for our second bathroom. Also, I've only had my brushes for about two weeks, so I can't speak to longevity. I think I like that they used some kind of metal on the top of the brush (where it meets the brushhead), because if you've owned an electric toothbrush, you know that even if you remove the brushhead and rinse everything after every use, gunk builds up between the brush and the brushhead (and also on the charging base). Because the Etee toothbrush appears somewhat more delicate, I'm not storing it on the charging base and using a little gentle hand soap on it after use (and I'm storing the brush and the brushheads separately for better drying). Also, I'd get rid of all the settings except "clean." They don't serve any purpose, and when you hold the brush it's easy to accidentally change the setting without meaning to. You also have to hold down the on/off button extra time to shut the brush off, which could be fixed if it only had one setting. Overall, would give more than five stars if I could.
