Should we sell Balcony Solar Panels???

Posted by IT Admin on

So like I said, assuming the regulations get up to date, do you think we should - follow zee Chermans.. (read in dorky german accent) - and partner with a balcony solar panel supplier to start bringing accessible renewable energy to our etee customers?

It seems in-line with our mission of empowering simple daily actions to better support our planet.

And, if properly executed it would help people SAVE money on the every increasing cost of electricity.

A little while ago I was approached by a sustainable battery company to partner up, but they weren't rechargeable and I thought that doesn't really sound sustainable.  Then I thought about trying to make solar powered appliances like our e-bamboo toothbrush, but when I came across this concept it just made so much more sense, but of course, I'd love your thoughts, so...

  • It’s an interesting idea, but I don’t think I could participate. For one, I don’t have a balcony or a clear use for solar panels. My electricity is from a cooperative of small cities that buys electricity from a nuclear plant, so we’re already pretty low carbon.

  • That sounds amazing! Yes, you should do it. I will purchase one as long as it is not beyond my means. What a great idea!🙂

  • Yes I would do it! We have a back patio that gets good sunlight in the morning. The front of the house would be best because we face West but we don’t have anyplace to put it. I still would be willing to give it a try!

  • We have just installed a full set of solar panels on our house and we are loving them! We just had our first hydro bill of $0! (Plus a small fee for still being on the grid). It feels wonderful! We realize we are lucky and can do this but for those in apartments, condos, townhouses etc, the balcony panel would be ideal!

  • Yes, please!

  • Great idea! We’d definitely be interested. It’s especially appealing because it’s “do it yourself” and don’t have to hire a contractor and it plugs right into the house outlet. If charging a battery with this solar panel, would there also be a simple way to connect it to the house? Good luck with this!

  • I would buy one if I had a balcony. haha. Neat idea!

  • I think it’s a great idea. I have recently moved to a retirement community. I have a 4th floor apartment with large east facing windows. No balcony though. I don’t know if this would be allowed but I would try.
